There was some joy in the Bohn camp when he finished with what can only be described as a grandstand climax. The remarkable series included three birdies in the last 4 holes. Ultimately he managed to win his second US PGA tour title by a two shot lead. The tournament had been hit with inclement weather and for a time it seemed as if there would be an element of disruption. However once the players got down to it there was no question that the game would be finished in time.  The New Orleans Classic was the scene of this memorable win and it should give Bohn a good foundation for the rest of the season.
The rain briefly interrupted the proceedings when the third round had to be postponed until the next day. However the American was in relentless mode and closed out his game with a 5 under par score for sixty seven and an 18 under total which is quite impressive in the circumstances. This came just a day after the golf player had celebrated his thirty seventh birthdays which proves the adage that age is no barrier in golf. In fact looking at the age of most of the golf players, Bohn is in the category of spring chickens. However the final outcome was narrowed between 3 players’s right from the start and then it moved on to just two players who went for it with gusto.
Bohn won his first US PGA Tour title in 2005 and has made superb progress in terms of being a contender in most tournaments that he participates in. This will be the kind of win that he savors for a long time given the quality of the competition and the stakes. It is without doubt a stepping stone towards even greater things in the sport in general. In the absence of the dominant Tiger Woods it will increasingly fall onto the other players to step up to the plate and make their own mark on the game. Bohn has already started the process and only hope for similar wins in the future.
